Professional Development Workshop Entitled “Impactful Approaches for Ensuring the Relevance of Business Schools and Tackling Grand Challenges” at AOM, Aug 2024 in Chicago, USA.
I am happy to share that Ms. Payal Gaba Vasudeva (Partner in Hyperspace Action Research Services) and I designed and I delivered an impactful Professional Development Workshop (PDW) entitled “Impactful Approaches for Ensuring the Relevance of Business Schools and Tackling Grand Challenges” at the Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Conference held in Chicago, USA on the 09th of Aug 2024.
Emerging from our impactful action research consulting experience in higher education, expert visits for accreditation, and research publications, we suggested three paradigm shifts (from ornamental to functional vision, mission and values, re-focus on the core processes of a business school and business schools ‘walking the talk’) and two approaches (dharmic leadership and systemic conceptualization of human beings) that hold the promise of transforming business schools and making them more relevant and effective. I shared a proven technique to make ornamental vision, mission, and values functional to create higher impact.

The workshop was well received by those who attended. The activities during the workshop reinforced the learnings and hopefully, the participants took back a few insights that they would execute when they get back to work.
